Vintage Circus Wedding: Stacey + Josh (Real Wedding)

A Vintage Circus Wedding....Have you brought back memories of your childhood? :)

Today’s wedding is one that I would just LOVE to have attended! It looks like such a fun time and Stacey + Josh are just the cutest couple! They both LOVE the circus and all things vintage, so when it came to their wedding they wanted to have a 1940’s circus wedding. From Stacey, “We go to any type of circus, freak or burlesque show as often as we can because they are so much fun. We decided if we were going to have a big wedding we were going to do it the way we wanted. We wanted to look back at this day 50 years from now and know truly in our hearts that it was exactly the way we wanted it. Our goal was to throw the bash of the century and – SUCCESS!” Success indeed! Wait until you see the super rad big top tent they had for both the ceremony + reception! Big thanks to Cameron Ingalls for letting me share his stunning photos and to Saralee Franchi of XOXO Bride for helping Stacey + Josh design the wedding on their dreams!

Stacey made her hair piece by hand and included pearls that were passed down to her from her father’s mother. She also wore her mother’s mother’s pearl necklace on her wrist. Stacey made her super rad green shoes by glittering a pair of shoes that she loved – my kind of girl!

Nathaniel + Daniel Cheli, friends of the couple and twins, were the stilted fire breathing circus performers. They also had friends who DJ’d the wedding play a special song during the ceremony, bake the cupcakes and cake, and even officiate the wedding.

Were not sure that we can pick a single moment of the day to stand out more than another because in reality the entire day was absolutely perfect, more than we could have ever imagined thanks to Saralee Franchi of XOXO brides who made this day possible for us.

Richina 1st Year Birthday Party

Little Richina turned One in May 2013 and celebrated in a Pink Themed Birthday Party among close friends and families. We arranged an array of delectable food & snacks for the guest, entertainment, gifts & goodie bags for little boys and girls.

Rachel (Richina’s Mama) wanted the prettiest Birthday Cake for her baby, a diamond tiara and butterflies was the perfect selection to add-on to the 2-tier strawberry & chocolate chip birthday cake.

The kids had so much of fun with the Clown and his balloon tricks. But, well I guess the most welcome piece of the entire party was the photo booth. I mean, don’t we all just love to be in camera? “Say Cheese!”

4 Favourite Colour Schemes from real-life weddings

Our 4 favourite colour schemes from real-life weddings

One of the easiest ways to create a theme for your wedding day is by picking a wedding colour scheme that suits you, your personality and the time of year.

We’ve chosen some fab themes from real-life weddings that have a strong colour scheme, so you can see how you can work flowers, accessories, stationery, bridesmaids dresses and all aspects of your wedding into particular hues.

Purples, Mauve and Lilacs

purple fairy wings
This is ‘the’ colour for 2013! Style your wedding with purple hues and create a dramatic wedding theme that your guests will adore! Go for a dark shade of purple to create a romantic look in aubergine or opt for a softer mood with lighter lilacs, which are perfect for a country garden-style wedding day. One way of dressing your maids is to create an ombre effect and experiment with different shades from Cadbury’s purple through to soft violet.
Dessy bridesmaid dresses come in an array of colours making it easy for you to create an ombre effect. You don’t have to be matchy-matchy with styles, either – just stick to purple hues and choose different necklines, from halternecks, to high necks, to strapless depending on what suits each individual girl.

Turquoise

Turquoise is a great colour scheme for a summer wedding. Bright colours always look their best in the sunshine, so it’s one to think about if you’re having a destination wedding, too.
Accessories and flowers in bright, bold shades will increase the vibrancy of your look. Alternatively you can play it down in muted pinks and whites.

Pink, Grey and Crystal

This is such an easy theme to put together and it will look stunningly elegant. Use crystals and diamanté on your wedding stationery, keep your flowers in soft pinks and mis-match your bridesmaids in shades of dove grey to tie it all together. This look works particularly well if you’re having a 1920s-inspired big day – think The Great Gatsby and Downton Abbey.

 Black and Brights

Now, hear us out on this one because black is usually a big no-no at weddings but this is one of the most glamorous wedding themes that’s really easy to achieve.
Dress your girls in black cocktail dresses (we don’t think they are going to complain about that one little bit) and use dazzling, brightly coloured bouquets, which can offset the look. You can get an amazing effect by using all-white flowers, too. This will look beautiful at an evening event and it’s a timeless style that will keep your photographs looking fresh and on trend for years to come.

Themed Wedding: Calvin & Lee Suan

Calvin & Lee Suan
Theme: English
Color: Pink, Champagne, Ivory

When Lee Suan came to us, she told us she wanted an English theme wedding.

To add details to the wedding, Calvin & Lee Suan chose to have their own Wedding Logo to be projected onto the ballroom wall throughout the night, custom made invitation card, guests favors, floral decoration and many more…

You'll see in the photographs how much effort the couple put in and that it really paid off as they had splendid moments that night!
